In this post, I will share designer tips on buying a faux olive tree aka fake olive tree, and how to style it once you buy it.
Decide on the type of olive tree you want
First, you need to decide on the type of tree you want. Faux olive trees can be tall and narrow or broad and wide. Depending on the amount of room you have and the style you want choose one that works better for you.
Some faux trees also have faux olives, but not all of them, this may or may not be an important factor for you, but keep that in mind when choosing an olive tree.
Where to buy the best faux olive tree
Olive trees are popular faux plans and are sold at Amazon, Wayfair, Pottery Barn, and many other retailers. They come at a variety of prices from more affordable to more of an investment, however, I am sure you will be able to find one at your price point.
1. Tall and narrow 7 ft olive tree
This is the tree in the top picture, it looks realistic and is at a great price point.
2. Artificial potted Olive Tree
This tree (pictured below) comes in a variety of heights 72, 84, and 96 inches tall, and is wider than the previous one
3. Faux Potted Olive Trees from Pottery Barn
This faux olive tree is a bestseller at Pottery Barn and comes 6, 7, and 8 feet tall. This tree is a bit of an investment, but the quality is great and you will enjoy it for years to come.
4. Affordable Faux olive tree
The trunk of this beautiful affordable artificial olive tree is made of natural yellow cattle wood, paired with lifelike leaves and fruits, it will be an ideal decoration for your home and office, creating a tropical atmosphere for your living environment. It comes in 4, 5, 6, and 7 feet.
5. Faux olive tree with olives
This artificial tree is made of durable and premium silk material(real touch, waterproof, eco-friendly). The base is made of solid cement which prevents children, pets knock it down. So easy to keep clean. If they happen to get a little dusty, simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth or duster.
Fluff your olive tree
Once you receive your olive tree and take it out of the box, it won’t look fluffy, it’s your job to fluff it up and make it look like a real tree. I recommend touching each leaf and bending it slightly to give shape, for realistic branches, pull them apart from the trank and bend some of them, giving them a shape as they would have if there were real.
How to style olive tree
The tree will come in a small plastic planter, but don’t leave it like that. Now it’s your time to style it. My favorite look is a tall olive tree in a wicker basket.
For my tree, I bought the basket separately, its size was perfect for a tall and narrow olive tree.
1. Place the tree in a basket
2. Add props for stability.
3. Put Spanish Moss on top
4. Enjoy!

Conclusion
Some real plants are hard to grow because they require specific conditions and care, a real olive tree is one of them. That’s when faux plants come in. They come in a variety of price and height options and are a perfect solution for your home decor needs.
