We hired two men to work on removing our coffered ceiling and building arches and niches on two sides of the fireplace for the future built-ins and it took them 8 days working full time to accomplish the task.

Day 1

On day one they masked everything up, creating a barrier for the rest of the house to contain the dust.

We wanted to keep the beams in the living room and cover them with sheet rock so that added more work to our project.

After the room was taped up, they began carefully cutting out the part of the sheetrock and the perpendicular beams of the coffered ceiling.

Fortunately, they discovered that there were no pipes in the ceiling and we were cleared to continue

Day 2

They continued removing the sheetrock around the beams.

Day 3

They built out the remaining beams to make them lower.

And started framing out the arched niches around the fireplace

Days 4 and 5

Started covering the ceiling and the niches with sheetrock and mudding.

Days 6 and 7

The whole was sanded, painted, and cleaned.
