You know that one wall in your house that sits there, empty and boring? For me, it was my hallway wall. I walked past it every day, knowing it had potential—I was just waiting for the right inspiration. Then, I found a piece of art that completely changed how I saw the space.

The Blank Wall Problem
Hallways usually don’t get much attention when decorating. They’re just places we walk through. My hallway was plain, with nothing on the walls—just a big, blank space. It felt unfinished, and I wanted something special to bring it to life.

The Moment of Inspiration
One day, I was looking at art online and found a piece that instantly grabbed my attention. It was called “Abstract Tranquility” from Vinchy Art. The colors and design made me feel calm and inspired at the same time. I knew right away that this was the missing piece for my hallway.

Why Art Can Change a Space
Adding art to your home isn’t just about filling up space. It makes a big difference!
✔ Shows Your Personality – Art makes your home feel more “you.”
✔ Changes the Mood – The right artwork can make a space feel peaceful, exciting, or even more stylish.
✔ Makes a Statement – A cool art piece can turn a plain wall into the highlight of a room.
✔ Creates Conversation – Guests always notice a great piece of art and ask about it!

How I Styled My Wall
Before choosing a velvet bench to complete the look, I spent some time planning my hallway refresh. I wanted to make sure the space felt cozy, stylish, and balanced. That’s why I turned to one of my favorite design tools—a mood board!

Creating a mood board helped me visualize different bench styles, decor elements, and colors before committing to a final design. I tested out several options, from sleek modern benches to classic wooden ones, and paired them with different vases and accent pieces. Seeing everything together on my mood board made my decision so much easier!
Mood boards are a game-changer when decorating, and they take the guesswork out of designing a space. If you want to learn how to create your own mood boards and confidently plan your home décor, I teach all the steps in my Canva Mood Board Course! Check it out here.
Once I finalized my design, I put everything together:
- Hung the Art at Eye Level – This made sure it was the main focus of the space.
- Placed a Velvet Bench Below – This made the space feel cozy and inviting.
- Added a Statement Vase – A simple, elegant vase next to the bench brought balance to the look.
- Used Colors from the Painting – I added little touches of similar colors in the hallway to tie everything together.

The Final Look
Now, my hallway feels totally different. Instead of being a boring space I ignore, it’s now one of my favorite spots in the house. The art piece completely transformed it!
