Do you have an empty wall that needs some love?
Do you have a blank wall in your house? Look around, sometimes they go unnoticed because they are just a blank canvas that needs some love. However, once you are done designing them, they will become an accent wall of your house.
Look around your house: is your entryway long and boring, is the back wall of your living room blank, what about a second-story landing – can it be made into a gallery wall? Maybe it is an empty dining room wall? Did you just think of a space that you would like to bring to life?
Getting started
To start bringing your wall decor ideas to life, consider how much space you have. Is there enough space for a console table or would an oversized mirror be a better solution? Also, how are you using that space- would a bench be helpful?
Create extra seating with a bench
Adding a bench will create extra seating for your space, but the bench alone would feel lonely. Add a faux or real tree, a few art pieces behind the bench, and a few pillows or a throw blanket.
Add an oversized mirror for a wow effect
If the space in front of your wall is narrow – add an oversize mirror. It will create a wow effect and visually make the space look bigger.
Add vertical shiplap and paint it black
If you have a white wall, adding a shiplap and painting a dark color will make it a statement wall. In contrast all light fixtures, a light wood console table, a round mirror, and a few baskets. To finish up the space with a light vase.
Add picture frame molding
If you don’t want to paint your wall a dark color but still want to add a wow effect, you can add picture frame molding and paint it white. Add wall sconces, a console table, and a framed mirror.
Go modern farmhouse-style
If you don’t want to or cannot paint a wall, add large wall art and a low bench. Add sconces on the sides and finish styling the bench will pillows.
Conclusion
The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a statement wall. Hopefully, these ideas gave a boost to your design ideas. You can also combine several ideas to create your take on a statement wall
