Ready to whip up a holiday mantle that’s as cozy as it is stunning? If you’re tired of the same old setups, use this “recipe” that balances traditional warmth and fresh touches. Get your ingredients ready—this is one recipe you’ll want to recreate year after year!
Ingredients
- 4 faux cedar garlands (two of them have faux bare branches, and two regular cedar garlands)
- 2 sets of ornaments
- 2 sets of candle holders (more candlelight = more coziness!)
- 1 mirror (to add a little sparkle)
Instructions
Step 1: Layer Your Garlands
You will need 4 garlands for a full, lash look. Before you start give your garlands a little fluff, pulling some branches forward to create depth and dimension.
I wanted to do an asymmetrical look, so I started with one garland making one side longer than the other.
Once I was satisfied with the length of the garland, I layered the second garland on the opposite side, to determine the length I wanted to create on the opposite side.
Next, I added a third garland, adding fullness to the longer side. Notice how I didn’t simply lay the garlands on top of the mantel, but pulled them down, exposing the fullness of the greenery.
I used 4 garlands, two of them have faux bare branches, and the other two regular cedar garlands. Both of them are of great quality and have a realistic look.
Step 2: Add the Ornaments
Just like toppings on a dessert, it’s time to sprinkle on some ornaments! I used 2 sets of Vintage Gold Finial Ornaments by Sullivans Home Decor. They are stunning!
Step 3: Place the Candle Holders
Now, set up your candle holders for the warm glow that makes everything feel magical. Whether you choose glass, elegant gold, or rustic wooden candle holders, this adds height and depth to your display. Go for varying heights in each set to keep it dynamic!
I choose glass candle holders for a translucent look.
Step 4: Hang or Lean Your Mirror
For that extra dash of style, position your mirror above the mantel. The mirror is like the frosting on top; it reflects the sparkle from the garland and ornaments while making the space feel bigger and brighter. Choose one with a frame that matches your decor—whether it’s rustic, modern, or vintage—to give your setup that “finished” look.
Conclusion
And there you have it! With this easy-to-follow recipe, you’ll be all set to impress guests and add an extra dose of cozy glam to your holiday season. Just remember, the best part of this “recipe” is that you can tweak it to match your style. Happy decorating, and may your holiday mantle bring warmth and wonder to your home all season long!
